Drawing is the basis for all of my work. I love line and detail and worked exclusively in graphite and colored pencil for several years. When I began experimenting I became a “Jack of all trades, master of none.” My travel journals are usually pen & ink with watercolor and, of course, with bits and piece of things added. 

I began combining various surfaces and materials because I was more interested in foreground details than the background.  After that, my brain just started coming up with different combinations. Many of my pieces are worked on both sides of multiple “papers” (including semi-transparent plastics) and might include gold or silver leaf. I also do image transfers (from my photographs and print matter) to various surfaces and then enhance them with watercolor, pens, gold leaf, etc..
